WebJul 7, 2008 · first thing first, i determined by how much i would shorten the stock. factory length of pull was 14.5", so i decided on 2.5" of shortening for a 12" length of pull. this is the removed section, and in it you can see the factory holes for the butt pad. the holes are located in rib-like structures that run the length of the interior of the stock.

For a shotgun that would make for a problem in removing the buttstock! Wherever you decide to put the block, rough up the sides of the interior of the stock to hold the epoxy.
